ABOUT MY CYANOTYPES: The cyanotype process creates a blue print via exposure in the sun/UV light. I use the medium in an innovative way, drawing with it like ink, rather than exposing photographic images, as is traditional. The drawings then get exposed in the sun to develop their color. My unique methods include using single exposure, layered exposures and toning techniques to achieve a wider variety of colors and values within the medium. I am especially interested in LINE, and how it can convey energy, movement and balance.
I have several ongoing cyanotype series as sampled below, and the sizes usually range from 11”x14” to 22”x30”, although I have worked smaller and much bigger, including large commissions, approximately 48”x60”.
